The prophet Isaiah spoke to the people in an era of discouragement. He gave hope to the people with the promise of a Savior . . . a Light dawning . . . a Light on the horizon of the future.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2
